A study conducted at the University of California: “Music Lessons appear to strengthen the links between brain neuron and build new neural bridges needed for good spatial reasoning", says psychologist Frances Rauscher. Her study compared 19 preschoolers who took lessons and 14 classmates not enrolled in pre-k music.
After 18 months, she found a 66% boost in spatial IQs of the young musicians and only 6% improvement for children not taught music lessons at that same age.” USA TODAY.
